GEORGE B. YOUNG
1948 - 2010
Mr. George Brian Young passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the age of 61 years. George was born in Moose Jaw, SK., on November 22, 1948. He lived and farmed in the Parkbeg area for a number of years until going to work in the oil patch. George is predeceased by his father, Harvey Young (1978); mother, Edith Young (1997) and a brother, Randy Young (1994). He leaves to cherish his memory: son, Darcy Young of Regina, SK.; sister, Bev (Ralph) Austin of Moose Jaw, SK. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A time of visitation and remembrance was held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, February 5, 2010, between 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Cremation followed the time of remembrance, and interment may follow at a later date.

MABLE ANN 'MIDGE' YATES
June 30, 1938 - October 26, 2009
Mable Ann ‘Midge’ Yates, beloved wife of Mr. Thomas Yates, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge on Monday, October 26, 2009, at the age of 71 years. Along with her loving husband, Tom, Midge leaves to cherish her memory four children: Russel Yates (Rochelle McCann) of Coaldale, Pat (Scott) McCray of Bow Island, Shelly (Brian) Lambert of Benalto, AB., and Murray (Jayne) Yates of Carseland, AB.; five grandchildren: Bailey McCray, Miles McCray, Kaelin Lambert, Clayton Yates and Rohdy Yates. She is survived by four siblings: Phyllis (Bill) McLeod, Bob (Ann) Nott, Audrey (Ron) Beatch and Bruce Nott; two sisters-in-law, Delores Yates, Pat (Mick) Brooks; brother-in-law, Richard Yates and numerous nieces and nephews. Midge was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Russell Nott; four sisters, Catherine, Helen, Nora and Jeanette; two brothers, Donald and Murray; sister-in-law, Gladys Nott; three brothers-in-law, Bill Yates, Arnold Peterson and Chuck Donnelly as well as three nephews, Lorne Nott, Bill Brooks and Jim Yates. Mable Ann was born to Helen and Russell Nott in Medicine Hat on June 30, 1938, the youngest of 11 children. Medicine Hat is also where she was raised and received her education. In 1957, Midge married Thomas Yates, and together they moved to Burdett. Throughout their lives together, they moved numerous times, living in Bow Island and Etzikom before settling down in Lethbridge. Together, they owned and operated MTY Trucking, a business they incorporated in 1974. Family was always a priority for Midge, and this was never more evident than when she was spending time with her grandchildren! She also enjoyed time spent doing puzzles, but her true passion was Bingo. Midge will be dearly remembered, especially for her strength and courage while fighting lung cancer over the past 4 1/2 years. A Celebration of Midge’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, October 30, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Cancer Clinic care of the Foundation Office, Chinook Regional Hospital, 960 - 19 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 1W5.

ORVILLE YANKE
1944 - 2007
Mr. Orville Yanke of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Mrs. Judy Yanke, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the age of 63 years. Along with his loving wife, Judy, Orville's memory will be cherished by his mother, Rosaline; three children, Tara (Adam Alvis) and their children James, Jordyn and Addison; Cherie (Hashim) Amlani; Devin (Kim) Yanke and their children Corin and Paige; two sisters, Sandra (Leroy) Zahn, Devra (Wayne Wren) Yanke; brother, Lyle Yanke; brother-in-law, Richard (Sharon) Biffart as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. He was predeceased by his father, Arnold Yanke, as well as his mother and father-in-law, Ruben and Frieda Biffart. Orville was born on November 9, 1944 in Medicine Hat, a son to Arnold and Rosaline Yanke. He was raised on a farm in the District of Wisdom. Orville married Judy Biffart on October 12, 1968. Together they resided on the farm and raised their three children. Orville was a vibrant, humorous, creative man who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved the company of his grandchildren, family and many dear friends. His passions included farming, snowmobiling, hunting and relaxing at the lake. Orville's love of life extended to the land, a cause that deeply motivated the passion with which he worked and lived. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Sunday, December 30, 2007, between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at Victory Lutheran Church, 2793 Southview Dr. S.E., Medicine Hat on Monday, December 31, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Loren Hosfield officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Medicine Hat Cancer Clinic, 666 - 5 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6.

EMMA (STEINLEY) YOUNG
1910 - 2006
Mrs. Emma (Steinley) Young of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2006, at the age of 96 years. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Calvin, Ruby and Dennis, as well as ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Emma was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Steinley Jr. in 1968, and her second husband, Charlie Young in 1990. A Private celebration of Emma's life will be held with Interment following at Hillside Cemetery.
