ANTHONY 'TONY'
UNSER
1944 - 2006

Mr. Anthony 'Tony' Unser formerly of Bow Island, beloved
husband of Heike Unser, passed away in Medicine Hat on
Monday, April 24, 2006 at the age of 61 years.
Tony will be cherished in the hearts of his family
including his loving wife, Heike after 41 years of
marriage; his sons, Michael (Veronica), Mark, Stephen
(Margaret) and Cameron (Shannon); eight
grandchildren, Joanna, Matthew, Sarah, Adonis Jeffrey (AJ),
Gabrielle, Lauren, Jorja and Samuel. Tony would
want to acknowledge that AJ blessed him on life's
journey with the support and love of an honourary son.
He will also be missed by his siblings, Shirley (Ernie)
Hollingsworth, Marj (Cliff) Landsiedel, Jerome (Heather)
Unser and Leona Unser. Tony owned and operated the
Bow Island House of Flowers for 37 years. Despite
his many physical challenges, Tony carried himself with
dignity and extended love and
affection to his wife, family and community. Since
his retirement and relocation to Medicine Hat, Tony
spent his time with his children and grandchildren, his
renewed love of painting and his T.V. remote control.
In preparation for Tony's ascension into God's presence,
Prayers will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1
Street East, Bow Island on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at
7:30 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at
St. Michael's Catholic Church, Bow Island on Friday,
April 28, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Father Joe
Kalathilparambil celebrant. Private Interment will
follow in the Bow Island Cemetery at a later date.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Tony's honour
may be made directly to the Bow Island Health
Centre, P.O. Bag 3990 (938 Center Street) Bow Island,

JOHN ULRICH
1945 - 2005
Mr. John Jack Ulrich of Medicine Hat, passed away at
the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Tuesday, April
19, 2005 at the age of 59 years.
John was born on September 21, 1945 in Medicine Hat, a
son to Rudolph and Emma Ulrich. He gained employment
in the Oil & Gas Industry.. and loved his work. John
was employed in Oil & Gas for many years and served in
many capacities. In his earlier years, he enjoyed
breaking horses, coaching baseball and played an
accordion in his band. Throughout his life, John liked
to go camping, hunting and fishing and would take his
kids around the province for bowling tournaments. He
also developed a keen interest in golf as well
as anything that he could involve his family in. John
was a family man and the time he would spend with his
kids and grandkids, was time well spent. He also had a
special friend too, his dog, Bruiser. Following his
fathers passing, John went to reside with his mother,
Emma, and together they liked to tend their garden.
John will be dearly missed by his mother, Emma of
Medicine
Hat; his children and grandchildren, Corinna (Dennis)
Brown and their children, Nolan and Sydney of Fort
McMurray; Clayton (Amber) and their children Taylor
and Colton of Whitecourt; and Cameron (Darcie) and
their children Tyler, Blayke and Alyson of Spruce
Grove. John was predeceased by his father,
Rudolph.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook
Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W.,
Medicine Hat on Thursday, April 21, 2005 from 7:00
P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at
Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 22,
2005 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Frank Krulicki
officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside
Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in John's name
may be made directly to the I.C.U. of the Foothills
Hospital, 1403 - 29th Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta

MARGARET
ELLEN UNWIN
1918 - 2004
Mrs. Margaret Ellen Unwin, beloved wife of the late
Mr. Francis Unwin, passed away on Thursday, July 8,
2004, at the age of 86 years.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory two daughters,
Barbara Bergeron and Frances Gower both of Medicine
Hat, as well as one son, Wesley (Laura May) Unwin of
Lincoln, New Brunswick. She will be lovingly
remembered by her grandchildren, Lisa (Gary) Bray and
sons Tristan and Griffin of Medicine
Hat; Richard (Nataschja) Bergeron and daughter,
Jennifer of Brooks, AB.; Dennis Bergeron of Medicine
Hat, as well as Kathleen (Mark) Udal and sons Logan
and Spencer of Medicine Hat. Margaret is survived by
three sisters, Frances Clennell of Medicine Hat, Helen
Foley of Maple Ridge, B.C., Jacqueline Ford of
Calgary, AB.; one sister-in-law, Marion May of
Medicine Hat; numerous nieces and nephews in
B.C., AB. and Ont.; Laura May's children and
grandchildren in New Brunswick, as well as Michelle
Hintz and Bill Gower. She was predeceased by her
husband Frank; one brother, Jack May, as well as
two sons-in-law, Daryl Starner and Ron Bergeron.
Margaret was born in Medicine Hat on May 15, 1918, the
third child of Jack and Frances May. She lived most of
her life in Medicine Hat with the exception of a short
stay in Bassano. She met her life partner, Frank Unwin,
and wisely heeded her father's advise to "wait until
after the war" to marry. Frank returned safely four
years later and they married on December 31, 1945.
Margaret worked at Dominion Glass during WWII, and
then worked at home raising her family for the next 15
years. She started work at A&W when Wes was three
years old and worked as a "carhop" for many years. She
retired for a short time then worked in the Legion
dining room for close to 5 years. She loved bowling,
playing darts and walking long distances.

Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W.,
Medicine Hat on Monday, July 12, 2004, between 7:00
P.M. and 8:00 P.M., as well as one hour prior to the
funeral service. The Funeral Service will be held at
Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, July 13,
2004, at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Loren Hosfield
officiating and interment to follow at Hillside
Cemetery.

the Alberta Children's Hospital, 300, 1021 - 10 Avenue
S.W., Calgary, Alberta, T2R 0B7.
