While surrounded by his family and in the comfort of his home, Mr. Patrick Joseph McBrearty, beloved husband of Mrs. Jean McBrearty of Medicine Hat, was called home to dwell in the house of the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the age of 70 years.
Patrick was born in Glasgow, Scotland on July 17, 1937, a son to Francis and Bridget McBrearty. Scotland was home...the place where Patrick was raised, educated and met his future wife, Jean Archibald.
As young teenagers (Patrick 18 and Jean 17) when they first met, their romance bloomed and were married on Patrick's 21st birthday, July 17,1958. For many years, Patrick was employed as a pipefitter. His easy going disposition and jolly self proved to be a positive influence on his colleagues. He could always be heard singing while he worked. Patrick was a kind and gentle man and truly loved his family and grandchildren. He loved life and lived for every moment. His sense of humor was infectious to those around him and it was always accompanied by the smile that he wore.
Although Patrick had experienced health issues, his demeanor and spirit would not break. He fought a good fight with his cancer and never complained. In short, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and Hero!
Patrick's memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Jean of Medicine Hat; a daughter, Trish (Ken) Pirie of Medicine Hat and their children, Nicole (Wayne) Jones - (great-grandson, Kai, who grandpa was so fond of), Craig Pirie and Shaleigh Pirie; a son, James McBrearty of Medicine Hat and his children, Krista and Cameron; a daughter, Angela Hutchings of Medicine Hat and her daughter, Ashley; two sisters, Moira Conner and Eleanor Webster both of Toronto; a sister-in-law, Anne (James) Higgins of Scotland as well as numerous nieces and nephews in both Canada and Scotland. DAKOTA LEIGH McKIM
2005
Beloved infant son of William McKim and Kathleen Nielsen of Medicine Hat, was called to heaven on Friday, June 3, 2005.

I'm just a little feller
Who didn't quite make it there;
I went straight to be with Jesus
But I'm waiting for you here.
Don't you fret about me Mommy,
I'm one of God's lambs most blessed;
I'd love to stay there with you,
But the Shepherd knows what's best.
Many dwell here where I live,
Waited years to enter in;
Struggled through a world of sorrow
And their lives were marred with sin.
So, sweet Mommy, don't you sorrow,
Wipe those tears and chase the gloom;
I went straight to Jesus' bosom
From my lovely Mother's womb.
Thank-you for the life you gave me,
It was brief, but don't complain;
I have all of Heaven's glory,
Suffered none of earthling's pain.

Family and friends gathered at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel to celebrate Dakota's life on Friday, June 10, 2005.

His Life Lived...
His Life Cherished...
His Life Honoured.
