Major (Ret’d) JOHN PERCIVAL ELLIOTT
1930 - 2008


It is with great sadness that the family of Major (Ret’d) John Percival Elliott announce his passing which occurred on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the age of 77 years.
Along with his loving wife, Joan Elliott (nee Woods), John’s memory will be cherished by his five children, John ‘Jack’ Elliott of Medicine Hat, Kim (Susan) Elliott of Ottawa, Ruth Elliott of Ottawa, Sally (Jeffrey) Meadows of Saskatoon, SK., and Garth (Kim) Elliott of Chesterville, ON.; eight grandchildren, Tiffany, James, Jenna, Cody, Nicholas, Cooper, Kacia and Shealynn; three great-grandchildren, Jade, James and Evan. John is also survived by a brother, Robert (Mary) Elliott of Maple Creek, SK., as well as numerous nephews and a niece. He was predeceased by his parents, Vern and Rita Elliott as well as one sister, Ruby Kew. John Percival Elliott was born in Maple Creek on November 29, 1930, the third child of Vern and Rita Elliott. He was raised and received his education in the Maple Creek area. Even at a very young age, it was evident that John was destined for big things. Throughout a varied and illustrious career in the Canadian Armed Forces, he served two Tours of Duty with the United Nations, and found himself at many different postings, requiring much travel. His final posting before his retirement was in Suffield at DRES. John was a quiet, clever man with a talent for writing. He was a consultant to many regarding historical facts and genealogical information.
John loved his children, and had much pride in their accomplishments. He will be dearly remembered.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Sunday, June 8, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. with Father Reg Alcock officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the Maple Creek Cemetery.

FLORENCE ELDER
2007
Florence Elder passed away at the Bow Island Health Centre on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at the age of 86 years.

No formal funeral proceedings are scheduled to take place.

IRENE ELHART
1916 - 2007


The family of Mrs. Irene Elhart, beloved wife of the late Mr. Albert Elhart, announce that she was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the age of 91 years.
Irene was born on January 22, 1916 in Harriet, South Dakota, a daughter to Matt and Elizabeth Wolfer.  She was raised and
educated in the Burstall area  where she grew up on the family farm.  On January 16, 1935 she married Albert Elhart and began their lives together, farming in the Cavan Lake area.  They retired to Medicine Hat in 1967 and became involved in a variety of organizations, especially the Moose Lodge.
Irene enjoyed to knit, crochet, and bake.  In fact, she was known for the delicious kuchen she would make.  Church was important to her and was an active member of Victory Lutheran Church.  Irene will be missed by her family and friends including her son, Larry (Judy) Elhart; daughter-in-law, Margaret Elhart; grandchildren, Sherri (Eric) Nielsen, Nicole (Sheldon) Flaig and Mark (Amy) Elhart; great-grandchildren, Owen, Reed, Spencer and
Leeza Nielsen and Ethan and Ty Flaig; two brothers, Victor (Pat) Wolfer and Alfred Wolfer as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Albert and two sons, Norman (2001) and Leonard in infancy.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., on Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.  The Funeral Service will be held at Victory Lutheran Church, 2793 Southview Drive S.E., Medicine Hat on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 1:30 p.m.
with Reverend Loren Hosfield officiating.  Private family interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

BRIAN & MARILYN ENS
2006


It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the families of Brian & Marilyn Ens, announce their passing which occurred on Sunday, October 22, 2006.
Brian was 42 and Marilyn was 48  years of age. Left to cherish their memory are their combined families which include Marilyn's children, Nicki Bernardo (James) and Terrence Bernardo; two brothers, Dave (Linda) Rabidoux and their family of Kamloops; Wayne (Krista) Rabidoux and their family of Edmonton and Lynda (Bill) McLevin and their family of Calgary;  Brian's parents, David and Kathleen Ens of Swift Current, Sask.; his children, David (Teresa) Slinkard of Swift Current, James Slinkard of Saskatoon and Justin Ens of Airdrie; his grandmother, Helen Wall; two brothers, Brent (Dallas) Ens and
their family of Saskatoon, Blaine (Nadine) Ens and their family of Saskatoon;  5 special granddaughters, Jazmenn Bernardo, Courtnie, Sydnie, Avery and Karsyon.  Brian and Marilyn will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
It was their hearts that brought Brian and Marilyn together to live their lives as one. They were married on September 4, 1999 in Calgary and have been inseparable ever since. For the past 23 years, Marilyn was a dedicated employee of Wal-Mart and Brian had just recently joined Joyline as a dispatcher. With the acceptance of each others families, Brian and Marilyn enjoyed the time that they spent with each and everyone of them. The time spent will be held dear in the hearts of their family and they will remain "Forever Loved".
The Celebration of Brian & Marilyn's Lives will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, October 27, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Dianne Beach officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Mr. Maurice Santon Elgie passed away in Medicine Hat on Thursday, October 12, 2006, at the age of 86 years.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Fireside Room at the First Assembly Of God Church, 395 - 9 Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Monday, December 11, 2006, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ken Roset officiating.

ANDREW EHRY
1920 - 2006


"Death is a sleep and when you wake in the resurrection you will be united with your wife and loved ones.  It is a beautiful promise from God and he never fails us."

Mr. Andrew Ehry of Medicine Hat peacefully passed away while surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the age of 86 years.
Andrew's memory will be cherished by his daughter, Patricia (Robert) Braun of Calgary and his son, Richard (Sharon) Ehry of Medicine Hat; 5 grandchildren who have the honour of being his pallbearers, Rhenda Braun, Stacy (Errol) Penny, Jason (Keri) Ehry, Christopher (Kalay) Ehry, Raegan (Chris) Leronowich; 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lynn Miller and Margaret Dionne. He was predeceased by his wife
Margaret in 1993; his parents John and Katherina Ehry and 7 brothers and sisters. Andrew was born on January 19, 1920 on the family homestead at Lampman, Saskatchewan. He attended the University at Regina, where he met and married Margaret Ebonal. They raised their family in Saskatoon where he
managed Sterling Shoes for many years. After the passing of his wife Margaret, he moved to Medicine Hat to be nearer his family. He loved to play baseball as a young man and his passion for the Toronto Blue Jays was unwavering. He loved to go hunting, fishing and golfing. Not only did he get a 'hole-in-one', but he got four of them!  All his grandchildren and great-grandchildren put a twinkle in his eye when he saw them. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 238 - 2nd Ave. N.E. on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Father John Maes celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Gerald Evack of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2005, at the age of 81 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one niece, Jennifer Evack and one sister-in-law, Jackie Evack. He was predeceased by his parents, Annie and Steve Evack as well as two brothers, John and Steve
Evack.

BRIAN ELGIE
1972 - 2005
Mr. Brian Elgie, beloved father of Brooklyn and beloved son of Cliff and Judy Elgie of Redcliff, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the age of 33 years.
Brian was born on June 30, 1972 in Taber. He was raised in Vauxhall where he received his schooling.
While in Vauxhall, he played minor hockey and later played with the Vauxhall Castaways. After High School he moved to Brooks where he gained employment in the oil industry... following in the footsteps of his dad. Due to failing health at a young age, Brian had made the decision to leave his employment.  Brian was a fanatic of Harley Davidson and was an artistic individual. All who knew Brian, knows of how fond he was of his dog, Jack. Brian will be remembered by his mom and dad, Judy & Cliff Elgie; his
daughter, Brooklyn; siblings, Rhonda (Jason) Ross, Robin (Michelle Thompson) Elgie and Julie Elgie; nieces and nephews, Cody, Kianna, RaeAnn, Merek and Asha. He is also survived by his Grandpa Morris Elgie as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. Brian was predeceased by an infant son, Austin; grandparents, Tom and Grace Kvale; grandma, Marge Elgie and uncles Norman and Ed Elgie.
A Celebration of Brian's Life will be held at the Redcliff Royal Canadian Legion, Sword Room, 302 Broadway Ave. N.E., Redcliff, Alberta on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.

ROBERT GEORGE ENSLEN
1942 - 2004
Mr. Robert  George (Bob) Enslen, beloved husband of Mrs. Lucille Enslen of Medicine Hat, went to be with the Lord peacefully at home with his loving family at his side on Monday, July 5, 2004, at the age of 62 years. Along with his loving wife Lucille, Bob leaves to cherish his memory four children, Stephen (Debbie) Enslen of Calgary, Ab., Jon (Bev) Enslen of Chestermere, Ab., Wally (Debbie) Enslen of Medicine Hat, Caroline (Stephen) Burgin of England;  nine grandchildren, Marina, Alicia, Dustin, Stephanie, Andrew, Kelsey, Amanda, Ashleigh and Jenna;  one sister, Jane (Harold) Wood of South Africa as well as one sister-in-law, Janice (David) Dickie of Saint John, NB. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Ella Enslen. Bob was born on February 26, 1942. He received his education in the Medicine Hat area. On June 25, 1960, he married Lucille Weagle in Nova  Scotia. He dedicated years of his life to farming before retiring to Medicine Hat.
Some of his many achievements include receiving his Journeyman Welder Certification at the age of 36, and teaching himself to play the baritone at the age of 55. He loved fishing, woodworking, playing games, travel, photography, and was an avid collector of many different things. A family orientated individual, Bob loved every minute he  spent with his grandchildren. He will be remembered by all those who knew and loved him as an honest, hard working individual who shared a strong faith in God with all those around him.

Mr. Gordon Egeland Of Medicine Hat, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the age of 79 years. He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Wanda (Lawrence) Bertrand of Calgary, AB., Calvin (Rhonda) Egeland and Byron (Shelley) Egeland both of Medicine Hat;  ten grandchildren as well as a special friend Lenora Hummel. Gordon is also survived by two sisters, Lois Barker and Eunice Harris;  two brothers, Elerd and John Egeland, as well as  numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Marcus and Lulu;  one sister, Kelly Simmons;  one brother, Norman Egeland;  one brother-in-law, Ed Barker and one sister-in-law, Twyla Egeland. Gordon farmed in Acadia Valley until retiring to Medicine Hat. He will be forever loved and remembered by all.
